Breast cancer treatment - an overview


This video gives a brief overview of breast cancer treatments. I think it helps to consider treatment for the cancer that we know about in the breast as well as some sort of whole body risk management treatment in case there are any cancer cells elsewhere in the body that we don't know about. The good news is that for most people, that risk is very low and your risk of dying of breast cancer is a lot lower than you think.



Breast conservation or mastectomy?


Breast conservation surgery is also called Wide local excision or Lumpectomy and preserves the rest of your breast. Mastectomy removes most of the breast tissue and can be combined with breast reconstruction.
